Duolingo launches an app that teaches young children to read


Duolingo, the owner of one of the world's most popular language learning apps, today launched a new app designed to teach young children to read.




Duolingo ABC is a new application called Reading in English, uses short lessons to teach the alphabet, sounds, then visual words, and is intended for children between 3 and 6 years old.




The company says: Duolingo ABC offers 300 lessons, and children will be asked to perform tasks, such as spelling words given from a letter set, as well as passing the finger over the letters in their uppercase and lowercase, passing the finger over the names, clicking on the elements that start with the given letter, clicking on the word Specified in a sentence.




It is noteworthy that the new application is available in principle for iOS only, and in English-speaking countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.




The company said: It plans to launch a special version of the Android operating system from Google at a later time. Noting that the app is free and does not contain any ads or internal purchases.
